The Neon Workshop Lightwriters Neon currently offers instruction in the art and science of neon glass bending and artistic lampworking at many venues including our glass studio in Northbrook, Illinois. The Northbrook sessions are presented on a one on one basis at a level determined by the student. |

The sessions are tailored to meet the needs and time constraints of each student .Local folks usually attend lessons once or twice a week while people who travel from afar stay for one or two weeks for a longer intensive study.

A typical day consists of one to five hours of instruction with the remainder of the day set aside for practice time at no aditional cost. Workshops and demonstrations can also be arranged for presentation at other venues including schools, libraries, and commercial shops. |

Most of the class time is dedicated to the skill of shaping glass with fire, however topics can vary widely as needed by the student. Other topics include; designing, processing, mounting, and finishing. Repairs and maintenence are also frequently included.. | ||||

| Penland Neon Workshop
The Penland School of Crafts is a national center for craft education dedicated to helping people live creative lives. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Penland offers workshops in books & paper, clay, drawing, glass, iron, metals, photography, printmaking and letterpress, textiles, and wood. The school also offers artists' residencies, community collaboration programs, and a gallery and information center. |

GAS '95
|
GAS '95 was our first Experimental Workshop with the focus of combining a hot shop with a neon shop. The theme of this 3-day post conference workshop was "Animals". Most folks acted accordingly.
